Douglas Fry – Photography Team Leader

Douglas Fry leads a photographic team of five photographers. Our photographers are assigned according to their strengths and preferences (such as photographing events or outdoor shoots), as well as their diary availability.

Douglas Fry read Physics at Imperial College, London, before joining the Honourable Artillery Company for a 5 year stint and then cycled around the world. His photographic career began in advertising at the leading fashion house Burberry before he moved to The Independent newspaper group. He left The Independent to become a freelance news/features photographer with his work regularly appearing in The Times, Independent, Observer, Spectator and many other national titles. Douglas founded Piranha in 1993, and currently shoots a lot of Annual Reports, advertising, and weddings throughout UK and Europe. He is married with two children and living in Oxford, he has all his own teeth, younger than he looks and is very kind to animals.

Adrian Stone – Videography Team Leader

Adrian Stone leads a team of three videographers.

Adrian Stone studied photography at The National School of the Arts in South Africa. He spent four years as a photographer for the South African navy, travelling to over 20 countries to take pictures for the navy's magazine and other publications.

In 2003 he started filming and editing, working for ten years in a freelance capacity as Director of Photography for companies, PR agencies and events' organisers. Adrian is an experienced film director as well as camera operator, and oversees projects from first briefing to completion. He takes a keen interest in learning about the latest video equipment, and shoots most of his assignments with a Canon 1DX. Adrian is originally from South Africa but came to England to witness improvements in the weather and rugby football, one of his great strengths is continued blind optimism.

Samantha Fry - Project Management

Samantha Fry read Biological Sciences at Exeter University. After a career at leading PR agency Brunswick, Samantha became a Project Manager for Merchant Corporate Design, working with some of the country's largest quoted companies on their annual reports and other financial communication materials. She has built up an enviable network of contacts at design, PR agencies and printing firms.

For the past 12 years, Samantha has coordinated all of Piranha's assignments, liaising with clients, designers and printers, taking bookings, providing advice on styles of photography and logistics, and ensuring all work is delivered to clients or third parties on time and to agreed budgets. Sam enjoys knitting, wearing home made misshappen cardigans and smiling through gritted teeth at the gentlemen above.
